Ethique de l'imitation dans la littérature et le cinéma de l'immigration en France (1986-2005)

by Hélène Sicard

In this study, I argue that cultural imitation-including plagiarism-can be deployed for ethical reasons by contemporary immigrant writers and filmmakers who experienced French colonization or their descendants. This dimension of their creative output has received little critical attention. The writers and filmmakers whose works are analyzed in this book have ties to Algeria, Vietnam, Cameroun, Lebanon, and Tunisia.
